No two days on a safari are alike, but a typical day would begin with a symphony of birdsong and a gentle wakeup call from your Tent Attendant announcing that it is time for the action to begin and that tea, coffee, hot chocolate and cookies await you either in the verandah extension of your sleeping tent or in the Mess Tent. Your verandah basin will be filled with hot water for washing and shaving, or if you prefer to take a morning shower, that can easily be arranged as well.

Once you are up, a hearty buffet breakfast begins your day with an assortment of fresh and dried fruits, a selection of cereals and hot porridge, eggs of your choice to order, bacon, sausages, pancakes and hot toast. There will be a selection of jams, delicious wild honey, home made marmalade and sauces as well as coffee, tea or hot chocolate to round off your meal.

Now it is time to set off in your customized vehicles for the morning's game and bird viewing, with endless photographic opportunities, interspersed with coffee stops and perhaps a leg stretching hikes in the bush. You return to camp for a delicious light buffet lunch as early or as late as you choose, depending on the day's events and after this you will be ready for an afternoon siesta and a quiet time for reading and writing. Hammocks slung between shady trees offer an alternative spot to recline if you so wish. During the heat of the day you will not be the only ones taking a cat-nap for the animals do as well, since it is at this time that the predators are least active, flat out under shade, so the prey species can rest and relax to gather energy for the challenge of survival during the evening and night.

Action begins again with tea-time (or coffee time) when there will be fresh camp baked cakes, cookies and sandwiches to accompany your beverage, and after that there is usually an evening game drive or walk, or perhaps a sundowner surprise set up somewhere spectacular to soak up the atmosphere of things as they were when the world was young in a wild and natural setting. At such times civilization and home may seem simply a remote memory as Nature takes hold of your soul.

You arrive back in camp as darkness falls, in time for a long, hot shower, cocktails and canapés served around the campfire, a lively exchange of stories about the day's events, or tales of wildlife adventures from your Professional Guide - Dinner is usually a sit-down four course gourmet affair served at a beautifully decorated candle lit table, the food accompanied by fine wines, and ending with a delicious dessert and a choice of liquors and chocolates. After that, unless you feel like beginning the digestive process beside the camp fire listening to more stories, you will be more than ready for bed.

On another day, you might choose to leave camp very early and enjoy hot beverages and a snack out on the plains at sunrise, returning for "brunch" late in the morning, or perhaps having a full blown surprise breakfast waiting for you at a venue you will suddenly happen upon during the course of your morning. If you are really keen, you may even decide to spend the entire day out enjoying picnic meals in the field or perhaps you may just decide to take "time out" and sleep in back at camp enjoying a quiet time, but if so, be prepared for some ribbing from your Guide!

On safari each day brings something different and is planned around your interests and wishes. Any other the activities found under SAFARI ACTIVITIES can be accommodated while on Safari, and your Guide will make sure that your Safari is everything you ever dreamed about, and that you will leave already planning your return.
